After spending his youth writing and performing in bands across the North of the UK, James spent over a decade working with artists alongside some of the UK’s most accomplished and respected producers (Including Ross Orton, Al Groves, Jolyon Thomas), before making his solo production debut in 2017 whilst studying at The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Since then, he has been rapidly making a name for himself as an exciting and creative young pop, hip-hop and rock producer, with a keen ear for spotting and developing new talent.

His productions are often praised for their ability to dive deep into an artist’s sound and identity whilst seamlessly bringing influences from a broad spectrum of genres - resulting in new and bold productions full to the brim with character and gripping hooks.

As a writer, James has described his approach:

"I'm on a constant search for songs that are timeless... I am most interested in presenting a genuine story or feeling as beautifully and engagingly as possible. It's about connection and catharsis in equal measures" 

As well as landing on a long list of editorial playlists and amassing several million streams, James' work has received high commendations from Jack Saunders, Alyx Holcombe, Steve Lamacq, Abbie McCarthy and John Kennedy, alongside a host of publications such as Rolling Stone, NME, Line Of Best Fit, Notion, DIY and Dork amongst many others.
